National Lawyers Guild
The National Lawyers Guild
(NLG) is dedicated to
the need for basic and progressive change in the structure
of our political and economic system. Through its
members--lawyers, law students, jailhouse lawyers and legal
workers united in chapters and committees--the Guild works
locally, nationally and internationally as an effective
political and social force in the service of the people.
The Colorado Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild has
organized the DNC-People's Law Project to train legal
observers and coordinate the mass defense of people who are
engaged in exercising free speech at the 2008 Democratic
National Convention in Denver. To get involved, email us

Midnight Special Law
Collective
The Midnight Special Law Collective is an independent
non-profit organization dedicated to providing legal
trainings and accessible, relevant, democratic, and
accountable legal support to a wide range of activists
participating in the struggle for social change.
The NLG DNC-People's Law Project was fortunate to have
Midnight Special's trainers come to Denver in April 2008 to
perform "Know Your Rights" classes and help us teach
students and community members how to be better legal
observers.
ACLU of Colorado
The DNC-People's Law Project is also proud to work with the
American Civil Liberties Union of Colorado, which has
spearheaded the defense of free speech rights at the
Democratic Convention by filing critical lawsuits. To learn
more about this litigation, check out their site!
Colorado Criminal
Defense Bar
The CCDB is an organization of Colorado
defense attorneys and an excellent source for legal
referrals.
Colorado Indymedia
An open media outlet with excellent coverage of free speech
actions at the DNC.
